Historically, products made of Damascus steel have always been appreciated both for strength properties of the metal, as well as for its beauty. Damascus steel was used to manufacture edged weapons and ornaments.
Patterns on the surface of Damascus steel products follow certain laws of formation. A person, who knows these laws, the one in command of the forge welding technology and, most importantly, the one being an artist capable of "drawing" using the graphics of interwoven metal fibers just as good as with pencil on paper. Then an artist can make up a pattern as he has conceived it.
For centuries, the rich graphic capabilities of Damascus steel with the rare exceptions found their application only in the manufacture of blades of edged weapons. In the world of today edged weapons are more of collectibles. Therefore, modern artists have more creative freedom than their predecessors, but it should be noted that they do not always make use of it. So we thought, what if the beauty of Damascus steel is used for interiors of cars and yachts? - And Damascus steel as a material with an endless potential for graphic capabilities met the arrival of the modern artist, a person gifted with imagination, fantasy, and finally, determination to handle the material, as well as the ability to translate the beauty of Damascus steel to new spatial forms.
